PCAN'S role is to support and develop projects in churches, other organisations and urban neighbourhoods rather than to run our own projects. However we do take on a number of specific pieces of work. At the present time (January 2012) our priorities are.
- Supporting work with the homeless, in partnership with Preston Homeless Forum and in particular the Sunday and Monday Drop in sessions at Central Methodist Church.
- Supporting a community wide food bank, building on the work already carried out by The Salvation Army, and seeking to link this with a wider network of food banks across Lancashire. Download and our poster for your noticeboard HERE and the leaflet about it here.
- A group working on events to gather people interested in developing their listening skills as a step to pastoral and counselling work. Training events took place in July and November 2011. Follow up training took place in 2012 on befriending, and being a welcoming church. BEING A WELCOMING CHURCH
