PCAN Preston Christian Action Network

PCAN'S role is to support and develop projects in churches, other organisations and urban neighbourhoods rather than to run our own projects. However we do take on a number of specific pieces of work. At the present time (January 2012) our priorities are.

  • Supporting work with the homeless, in partnership with Preston Homeless Forum and in particular the Sunday and Monday Drop in sessions at Central Methodist Church.
  • Supporting a community wide food bank, building on the work already carried out by The Salvation Army, and seeking to link this with a wider network of food banks across Lancashire. Download and our poster for your noticeboard HERE and the leaflet about it here.

  • A group working on events to gather people interested in developing their listening skills as a step to pastoral and counselling work. Training events took place in July and November 2011.  Follow up training took place in 2012 on befriending, and being a welcoming church.  BEING A WELCOMING CHURCH
